America's 400 million acres of working forests provide immeasurable benefits to our society - ecosystem services, fresh air, clean water, habitat, open space, and sustainable forest products. Working forests protected by conservation easements are privately-owned forests that offer great public benefit. Since its inception in 1985, The Conservation Fund has protected 7.8 million acres of habitat in all 50 states. Brian Dangler is VP and Director of TCF's Working Forest Fund, and he joins us this week to talk about conservation easements & how they benefit forests, habitat, communities, and outdoor recreation. We talk about TCF's recent monumental conservation deal in PA - the 32,000 acre Clarion Junction Forest, their Rensselaer Plateau Forest in NY and conserving elk habitat in Logan County WV.
